My name is Jonathan Roche and I am a Math Education major. My love for mathematics and helping people has driven me into the profession. I look forward to graduating in the next year and starting my teaching career hopefully at the High School level where I can teach my true love Calculus. I also hope to become a coach at whatever school I end up at for either baseball or football.
You say "the loss of basic math skills", but couldn't you also say "the capability for advanced math in the palm of your hand"? While I agree that the calculator has made paper and pencil math nearly obsolete, it has also made complicated math easier and much more accessible!
